The fees and charges are proposed, subject to endorsement by Council at its meeting on Monday, 9 February. The proposed fees and charges will then be exhibited publicly for a period of 28 days, during which the public has an opportunity to submit feedback.
The proposed fees and charges have been developed following a comprehensive market and competitor analysis, to ensure the proposed fees and charges are appropriate, equitable, and competitively positioned.
Council has not recommended introducing a resident discount because it would require higher subsidies from all ratepayers, including those who don’t use the Pool.
Resident only pricing is uncommon across metropolitan Sydney, with neighbouring councils not offering similar discounts. Instead, North Sydney Olympic Pool’s fees have been designed to be fair, competitive and good value for all users, with concession discounts available for eligible cardholders.
