Draft Modern Slavery Policy

Modern slavery refers to serious exploitation that deprives people of their freedom for personal or commercial gain. It can include slavery, servitude, forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, forced marriage, deceptive recruiting practices and the worst forms of child labour.

Council is seeking community feedback before deciding whether to adopt the Draft Modern Slavery Policy. Public exhibition allows residents, businesses and stakeholders to review the proposed policy and provide input.

All submissions received during the exhibition period will be reviewed and considered before a final report is presented to Council.

No. The policy applies to Council operations and to people and organisations working for and with Council, including employees, contractors, consultants, volunteers and suppliers.
