About North Sydney Swimming Club
The former North Sydney Swimming Club is proposed to be reactivated as the representative swimming club for North Sydney Olympic Pool.
Council received advice from Swimming NSW and Swimming Metro North East that reactivating the former Club is the most efficient way to support participation in the 2026-27 Swimming NSW season.
As a Council-managed program:
- North Sydney Council will retain overall management, oversight and accountability for the Club.
- Council's Service Unit Manager Leisure and Aquatics, or their delegate, will be responsible for final decisions relating to the Club.
- A volunteer Club Board will provide advice and recommend activities, events and other member-focused initiatives.
- Club members are expected to follow the Club's objectives, conduct requirements, and service expectations.
- The Club will hold revenue in a dedicated Council-administered fund and use it for approved Club purposes.
The Council report proposes that the volunteer Club Board operate in an advisory capacity and that Council retain responsibility for governance, financial, compliance, risk and accountability matters.
Club membership would be separate from fees for squad training, pool entry or other programs and services at North Sydney Olympic Pool.
