Help shape the future of Cammeraygal Place

North Sydney Council is seeking community feedback to help inform future public domain improvements for Cammeraygal Place in Cammeray.

Council has long recognised Cammeraygal Place in its planning framework as an important public space and focal point within the Cammeray Village Centre. Community requests for improvements to the space were raised with Council in 2024, and consultation on Council's Delivery Program in 2025 provided further support for prioritising public domain improvements.

Council subsequently included the project in its Delivery Program 2025-2029, with concept design development and community engagement commencing in 2026-27 and construction funding identified in the 2028-29 Capital Works Program.

The project is now at an early designstage.Initial community feedback will help identify priorities and inform the development of a concept design, which will be presented to the community for further feedback in 2027.

The proposed upgrade will also improve access through Cammeraygal Place and introduce new materials and finishes that align with Council's current village centre standards, helping create a more accessible, attractive and cohesive public space.

What is the project about?

Cammeraygal Place is a key public space within the Cammeray Village Centre, providing a place for people to meet, rest and enjoy the local area.

Council is exploring opportunities to enhance the space as part of its commitment to creating vibrant, accessible and attractive public places across North Sydney.

Potential improvements may include:

  • seating and gathering spaces
  • accessibility improvements
  • lighting and amenity upgrades
  • opportunities for community use and activation
  • improvements to the overall appearance and functionality of the space
  • landscaping and planting

No design options have been prepared at this stage. Community feedback gathered during this consultation will help inform the development of concept designs.

The survey is now closed. Thanks for participating.
