Review of Bushcare Program Guidelines

Project Overview

Feedback closes 20July 2026

North Sydney Council is seeking feedback on the revised Bushcare Program Guidelines.

The Bushcare program has supported the protection and restoration of North Sydney's bushland since 1993, with volunteers playing a vital role in conserving local biodiversity.

The Guidelines have been updated to reflect current Council policies, procedures and best practice to ensure the program remains safe, inclusive and effective for all participants.

We are inviting feedback from Bushcare volunteers, participants and the wider community to help ensure the Guidelines are clear, relevant and fit for purpose.

Bushcare is a volunteer program focused on restoring native ecosystems through bush regeneration activites such as weed removal and plant propagation.

It was established in 1993 and has had over 140 active volunteers.

Activities take place at bushland reserves and the Bushcare Community Nursery. There volunteers contribute to protecting local biodiversity and bushland health.
